Gwerin Creative translates to "creative folk" in Welsh, and represents the complexities of people and the importance of a highly engaged community to form an unforgettable online identity.
And since it’s my personal brand, I wanted something… well, personal! My fiancé is Irish and I’m Welsh, and in searching for connections between the Celtic nations, we found plenty: both are rugby nations, both have their own native language, and both are accustomed to crap weather.
The list goes on, but I yearned for something more meaningful. That’s when Julieanne described Ogham to me: An ancient Irish writing system, often inscribed on ‘Ogham stones’, primarily used to mark territories, names, and sometimes trade routes. But did you know that Ogham stones are found in Wales too? The majority of them in Pembrokeshire, often bilingual, featuring both Ogham and Latin.
So, I applied this to my branding and created a linear pattern representing the following words translated into Ogham: community, imagination, and originality - values celebrated through Gwerin Creative.

I’ll be as excited as you are about your project. You think I'm joking!
